Winter – a rest period, for example a tree is resting; it’s not producing leaves or growing new roots or branches, it is waiting for spring to bring forth new life again. An evergreen tree may be green in winter, but it is at rest. Even the soil is at rest. The soil is waiting for spring to bring forth new life again. Many animals hibernate in the winter; birds fly to warmer climates to return in the spring.

As a writer, I keep a lot of notes, files, magazines and magazine clippings, bookmarks to useful websites online and contacts for writing work. Over the course of time, this stuff piles up and if it’s not organized properly, it can be a real pain to sort through. I find that some of the info gets outdated or that I just no longer need it and it’s time to do a cleanup and a clean out.

New If you have a laid-back personality like I do, people can receive your excitement in one of two ways. They will think you’re being an absolute weirdo and you might even scare them a bit. Or they will think that your newfound excitement means that your new opportunity must be a gold mine since you rarely get excited about anything.

The fact is, true New Yorkers wouldn’t probably have it any other way. They might have to scrimp and save, but they can go see free concerts in Central Park. They might have to clip coupons to pay for Thanksgiving Dinner, but they can walk out their front door and watch Macy’s Thanksgiving parade in person. They might have to drink cheap champagne on New Years Eve, but they can drink it as they revel in Times Square as they watch that famous ball slide down in person while millions of people around the planet watching the festivities on television wish they were there.

New York has a humid climate and sometimes it is classified as humid subtropical climate. The Plateau division of the state has long and cold winters. However the area near the Hudson Valley has comparatively warmer summers but with high level of humidity. The rest of the New York state has pleasant summers marked by few showers.

Many – tens of thousands actually – visit New Orleans for Mardi Gras. This celebration is also called “Fat Tuesday” and is held traditionally to celebrate the start of Lent. And New Orleans is truly the place to be if you want to enjoy Mardi Gras to the fullest! There are parades, Mardi Gras balls and also King Cake parties.
